This Season, We’re Doing Things a Little Differently

We’ve always believed the best days in Stratford happen when you’re out on the river, biking through the park, or sitting down for something simple and delicious by the water. And this year, we wanted to create a few experiences that reflect that.

These new packages came out of conversations between dock shifts, patio cleanups, and morning coffees. They’re things we’d actually do (and often have) with our own families. So we thought—why not share that?

Here’s what we came up with.

Bike & Bite

If your perfect day includes a bit of adventure, some local flavour, and time to soak in the sights, this is your sign.

In partnership with Ross’ Bike Works and the Bacon & Ale Trail, our Bike & Bite Tour is a self-guided ride that weaves together Stratford’s best views and boldest bites. You’ll stop for craft beer, bacon-inspired snacks, and charming small businesses, all while cruising on either a standard bike or an e-bike—your choice.

What’s Included:
  • 4- or 6-hour bike or e-bike rental

  • 5 Bacon & Ale Trail vouchers per person

  • Curated scenic routes (plus access to Ride with GPS soon!)

  • Stratford vendor & tasting guide

How It Works:

Start your adventure at The Boathouse, where we’ll set you up with a bike, your trail pass, and tips for where to begin. From there, you’ll head out to explore Stratford at your own pace—visiting local shops, culinary stops, and maybe even a few breweries if that’s your thing.

Looking for local sips and samples? Check out the Bacon & Ale Trail for participating vendors and offerings.

A Note on Safety: Many stops include alcoholic tastings. We encourage all guests to enjoy responsibly and never ride impaired.

  • Available May–October

  • Starting at $82 per person

Picnic on the Water: A Paddle, a Basket, and a Beautiful Day

This one’s for the romantics, the slow movers, and the snack lovers.

Picnic on the Water is Stratford’s most scenic lunch date. You’ll gather local delights from Savour & Sip Trail vendors, pack them into a tote, and drift down the Avon River by paddleboat or canoe. Think swans, willow trees, and laughter that echoes over the water.

What’s Included:
  • 2-hour paddleboat or canoe rental for two

  • Savour & Sip Trail pass

  • Picnic tote + suggested route

How It Works:

Once you check in at The Boathouse, you’ll receive your Savour & Sip Trail pass and picnic tote. From there, you’ll head out to collect your treats from Stratford’s amazing local vendors.

Timing Tip: Gathering your picnic can take 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your pace and the stops you choose—some may require a quick call ahead. The time you book online is your scheduled boat departure, so we recommend arriving well in advance to give yourself time to explore.

We’re happy to adjust your boat departure time if you’re running behind (we get it—sometimes the food is too good to rush), but please note that we can’t guarantee a boat will be immediately available if you're delayed. Our crew will do their best to keep things flowing smoothly!

  • Available May–October

  • $90 per couple

Made in Collaboration, Rooted in Stratford

These experiences were created with the help of our amazing community and are part of a much bigger story—the Stratford story. Whether you're a first-timer or a lifelong local, here are some great ways to explore more:

Whether you’re discovering local trails, tasting something new, or finding the perfect picnic spot—Stratford is built for slow, meaningful travel. And we’re proud to be part of it.

Just Us, Doing What We Love

We’ve been on this river for over 60 years as a family. These packages weren’t built for mass tourism—they were made for locals, for day-trippers, and for anyone craving something real and memorable.

So if you're looking for a slow day filled with great food, good conversation, and Stratford charm, we’d love to host you.

Or come down to the dock and say hi. We’d love to chat and help you plan your perfect day.
